Gervasi Vineyards, Canton, Ohio
The multi-structure project began with the owner’s wish to restore a barn built in 1823; that barn became Gervasi’s popular Italian bistro. From there, the owners expanded their amenities to become a destination property with European flair.
Gervasi's meandering, 55 acre property now includes a winery and tasting bar, bistro, outdoor event pavilion, gift shop, culinary and wine institute, indoor conference and event center, guest suites, and more than five acres of vineyards. JELD-WEN windows provide a consistent design element throughout the project.
In keeping with the old world style reminiscent of Italian architecture, JELD-WEN windows helped create a home-like, comfortable, and consistent feel. The stone archways of the landscape and arched windows on several structures echo one another and unite the look. The mix of materials is evident and part of what makes Gervasi charming to visit. Visitors see stone, wood and stucco exteriors on various buildings, yet the style and exterior colors of the JELD-WEN wood windows and JELD-WEN vinyl windows match throughout the property—an important consideration to the architects.
The architects were able to use Builders Vinyl in the greenhouse, and Builders and Siteline EX Wood windows in other buildings because JELD-WEN’s vinyl and wood cladding colors match and the styles they required are available across both product lines.
Working with JELD-WEN is also easy. “I can order windows from multiple product lines using one estimating program,” said D.J. Csaki of Carter-Jones Lumber.
