The Tradition Of Giving Back To Education Continues
JELD-WEN Tradition Foundation surpasses the million-dollar mark with this year’s contribution to 18 Oregon charities
PORTLAND, Ore. February 06, 2007 The JELD-WEN Tradition Foundation continues its commitment to Oregon children by presenting a record-breaking $500,000 donation divided among 18 educational organizations. This year’s contribution exceeds any single-year donation since the tournament came to Oregon in 2003.
All proceeds from the annual JELD-WEN Tradition presented by Umpqua Bank, Oregon’s biggest golf event and one of five major championships on the Champions Tour, benefit innovative educational nonprofits throughout Oregon. With today’s donation, the JELD-WEN Tradition has raised more than $1.4 million in its four-year history in Oregon.
“Our goal is to provide continued support for kindergarten through high school-age students based on partnerships and a shared vision for improving educational opportunities in Oregon,” said Henry Hewitt, chairman of the JELD-WEN Tradition Foundation board. “Each one of these organizations supports children in very unique and impactful ways.
