As one of the largest door and window manufacturers in the country, JELD-WEN will pilot The Perfect Fit program for the first time through Home Depot stores in Oregon beginning November of this year, prior to rolling it out nationally next year.

How it works

Door fitting traditionally has been a tricky job because door frames tend not to be perfectly square, especially in older homes. The Perfect Fit by JELD-WEN takes the guesswork out of the process with patented technology that optically digitizes a 3-D measurement that is then sent directly to the company’s manufacturing plants. The unique measurements account for any bow or imperfection in the door frame, allowing each door to be machined to fit individual openings. When the doors leave JELD-WEN’s plants and are delivered, installation takes a matter of minutes because each door is made to fit.  In total, from when the order is placed to the actual installation, the entire process typically takes less than two weeks.

Available through 25 Home Depot stores in Oregon, customers first identify the door openings they need to replace and select the styles and options they want. A JELD-WEN Perfect Fit consultant then schedules an in-home meeting to confirm the order and take measurements. From there, doors are manufactured to the proper specs, delivered and installed quickly and easily.

Costs for The Perfect Fit door replacement vary widely depending on door style, material, hardware and finishing options selected. Customers pay a basic $199 fee which covers the in-home consultation and the measurement of each door (up to 15 doors), in addition to the total cost of the door style and options selected. The company offers a variety of products and options to fit nearly any budget, and the cost and time efficiencies can result in substantial savings.
