JELD-WEN, in voluntary cooperation with the CPSC, has decided to voluntarily recall a certain lower pivot pin prepackaged with JELD-WEN interior hollow-core bifold door units (molded and flush styles only). The lower pivot pin may not withstand normal force on the door panel, which may cause the door to unexpectedly disengage from the overhead track, posing a falling hazard to consumers. The attached units were sold to some customers as early as February 2011.
If you have a molded or flush bifold door purchased in this time period, you should stop using the door and:
1. Determine if the pivot pins you have are affected. Use our downloadable identification instructions to remove the panels and inspect the pins. You may also use our helpful identification video to preview the process.
2. If you have already done this, and know your bifold door is affected please complete our online request form or call us at 877-228-4888, to obtain your free replacement pins and installation instructions.
3. If you have misplaced the instructions included with the replacement pins, our downloadable pin replacement instructions are available online. You may also use our helpful replacement video to preview the process.
