KLAMATH FALLS, Ore.—JELD-WEN has expanded its Forest Stewardship Council™ (FSC®) certification to include Siteline EX Wood Windows and Patio Doors. Accredited by FSC, the Rainforest Alliance granted JELD-WEN a multisite certificate, which demonstrates to customers that JELD-WEN uses responsibly produced Pine. Previously JELD-WEN offered FSC certification as an option on its Custom Wood Window and Patio Door lines.
This certification expands JELD-WEN’s recognition from third parties for its use of certified sources of wood. For several years, each of JELD-WEN’s wood window manufacturing facilities have been chain of custody certified by the Sustainable Forestry Initiative (SFI), allowing those plants to apply the SFI label to their Pine windows and patio doors. Today with FSC certification, JELD-WEN’s Bend, Oregon window and patio door facility is dual certified and gives customers greater flexibility to earn credits in national building-certification programs such as LEED, Green Globes or the National Green Building Standard. Combined, the two standards certify approximately 230 million acres of North American forestland.
AuraLast® Wood Is Standard with Both Certified Wood Window Options
JELD-WEN Siteline EX windows and patio doors come standard with AuraLast wood, which has two environmental benefits in addition to its third-party wood certification: durability and fewer VOCs during production.
“JELD-WEN Custom and Siteline EX pine wood windows inspire confidence among our customers because they are both responsibly produced and warranted against wood decay and termites,” stated JELD-WEN Window Product Manager Elizabeth Souders.
“All JELD-WEN pine wood windows come standard with AuraLast wood, which is the very best in wood protection available in the window market today,” Souders continued. “Now customers can get the protection of AuraLast wood with optional FSC certification. No other window company can offer this combination to their customers.”
