KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. – JELD-WEN is expanding its Custom Wood Window line to include a pocket double-hung window, perfect for residential and light commercial applications where the building’s existing window frame and surrounding wall are in good condition, but the sash is in need of improvement. The convenience of a replacement pocket window will be available with all the flexibility and custom capabilities of our Custom window line including multiple wood species, 10 different hardware finishes, multiple interior finish options and 41 clad colors.

The new Custom replacement pocket double hung is making its debut at the International Builders Show in Las Vegas (JELD-WEN Booth #C6912) in anticipation of a launch in the spring of 2013.

The new JELD-WEN Custom replacement pocket double-hung window will be offered with a choice of an all-wood exterior—perfect for those situations where you want the freedom to paint or stain your window’s exterior—or with a clad exterior that never requires painting and has 41 beautiful color options including copper. Other important features for this high-end replacement window include JELD-WEN’s exclusive AuraLast® Wood that has a 20-year warranty against wood rot, the ability to accommodate several existing frame sill slopes, numerous divided lite profiles, concealed jamb liner, concealed tilt latches, narrow or wide bottom rail options and high performance glass packages for optimal energy performance, including ENERGY STAR qualification. Numerous combinations of interior finishes are available including several wood species, stains, antique finishes and paint color options.

Replacement pocket windows are ideal for historic renovations where the original frames and surrounding wall are performing well and preservation of the original design character is paramount. With multiple divided lite profiles to choose from, including putty glazed, it’s easy to deliver structural performance, energy efficiency and historic architectural characteristics.

A replacement pocket window is easy to install because it only requires removal of the inside stop, sash, and any protruding channels or tracks of the frame. The fully assembled pocket window fits snug against flat portions of the existing frame and is secured by using screws through pre-drilled holes.
