JELD-WEN Carved Interior Doors are manufactured with layers of solid medium density fiberboard (MDF) and a polystyrene core. MDF gives Carved doors a stately heft, which homeowners appreciate, while installers are all-too-glad the polystyrene core makes them 33 percent lighter than most MDF doors. It’s just the right combination of substance and ease-of-handling. The core also provides some of the best noise reduction of any residential or commercial door, so it’s ideal for cutting back on sound transmission from room to room.
