The JELD-WEN Utility Bill Contest is officially closed.
Eligibility
This contest is open and offered to all homeowners(must own the home) in one of the (50) fifty United States or the District of Columbia throughout the contest period. Void elsewhere and where prohibited by law. Employees of JELD-WEN, inc., CMD Agency, their affiliates, subsidiaries, anyone working on this product, project, or promotion, and the advertising and promotional agencies and the immediate family members of each are not eligible.
Number of entries
Only one entry per household.
Prizes
One first place winner will receive JELD-WEN windows and exterior doors. Choice of product(s) to be made by JELD-WEN after thorough review and consultation with homeowner. Value of product not to exceed $5,000. Installation will be paid for up to $2,000. JELD-WEN, inc. reserves the right to name additional winners or prizes. Prizewinners are responsible for any applicable federal, state or local taxes on prize; if applicable, winner may receive an IRS tax Form 1099 for the value of the prize. Any difference between actual value of prize and approximated value of prizes as stated in these Official Rules will not be awarded.
How to enter
This contest is searching for a home that has a need for energy efficient windows and doors. All entries must be submitted via the jeld-wen.com web site. Entries will be judged on 1) 20% Utility bill divided by square footage of home 2) 40% Compelling essay on why energy efficient windows and doors are needed 3) 20% impact that energy efficient windows and doors will have on the home and 4) 20% viability of JELD-WEN product able to be used in the home. Neither JELD-WEN, inc., its employees, the contest sponsors, judges, participants nor their assigns are responsible for entries that are lost, late, delayed, misdirected, unintelligible, illegible, incomplete, stolen, damaged or undeliverable. All entries become the property of JELD-WEN, inc.
Contest period
Contest is open starting August 6, 2009 at 12:00 Noon (PT) and ends January 29, 2010 at 11:59:59 PM (PT).
Decisions
Judges will be selected by JELD-WEN, inc. and may include but are not limited to: JELD-WEN, inc. employees, customers, home improvement media and design professionals. All judging decisions are final. Entries will be judged on but are not limited to 1) 20% Utility bill divided by square footage of home 2) 40% Compelling essay on why energy efficient windows and doors are needed 3) 20% impact that energy efficient windows and door will have on the home and 4) 20% viability of JELD-WEN product able to be used in the home. JELD-WEN, inc. reserves the right to change or modify this contest.
Fee
No purchase or fee necessary.
Notification
All winners will be notified on or before February 28, 2010. Winners will be announced to the public on or before March 31, 2010.
Conditions of user participation
By participating, all participants signify their agreement to be bound by these Official Rules, and the decisions of JELD-WEN, inc. and its Administrators whose decisions in all aspects shall be final and binding. JELD-WEN, inc. and its Administrators may, at their sole discretion, disqualify any individual from receiving a prize if JELD-WEN, inc. and its Administrators in their sole discretion determine that such person has engaged in or has attempted to engage in any of the following: (a) acting in violation of these Official Rules or the terms and conditions of any applicable laws; or (b) damaging, tampering with or corrupting the operation of the Contest; or (c) acting with intent to annoy, harass or abuse any other person; or (d) any unsportsmanlike, inappropriate, uncooperative, disruptive, or fraudulent behavior or activity; or (e) activity that is generally inconsistent with the intended operation of the contest.
Release of liability
By participating, all participants, on behalf of themselves, their executors, estates, heirs and assigns, agree to release JELD-WEN, inc. and its Administrators from any and all liability, claims, or actions of any kind whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses of any kind to persons or property arising out of or in connection with (1) the conduct of the contest, (2) the receipt, ownership,taxation or use of a prize, (3) activities on the prizewinner's property, (4) removal or installation of windows and doors, (5) preparing for, participating in or traveling to and/or from any prize-related activity, or for (6) any typographical errors in the announcement of prizes or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data. Under no circumstances will JELD-WEN, inc. and its Administrators be liable for punitive, incidental, consequential, or any other damages.
Publicity
Participants acknowledge that their submissions and homes may be used by JELD-WEN, inc. and/or its assigns for promotional materials. Except where prohibited by law, winners grant to JELD-WEN, inc. (and confirm such grant in writing upon request) the right to print, publish, broadcast and use worldwide in any media now known or hereinafter known, including without limitation TV, radio, internet, the winner's name, address, voice, biographical data, statement, image(s) of home, picture or other likeness (including without limitation posting of name/city/state online at the Web Site within the Winner's board section) without additional compensation, for public relations, advertising and promotional purposes as may be determined by JELD-WEN, inc., without additional compensation, consideration, review or consent.
